I am pleased to have the privilege of being the Superintendent of Anna ISD. Anna is a fast growth district in northern Collin County. As a community we still have a small town atmosphere with a progressive educational system. We pride ourselves on creating a family environment for our students and staff.
This year begins my 25th year in education and my 11th in Anna ISD. I am excited about the opportunities we will have over the next several years to build programs to meet the growth of our district and the needs of our students. With the rapid growth the district will experience the need for additional facilities and new instructional programs for our students.
Our leadership team along with parents, community members, and students spent last year developing a strategic plan to give the district direction for the future. The plan emphasizes the need for additional facilities, increased technology opportunities, additional Career and Technical courses, as well as more opportunities for Dual Credit course work.
Our district is approximately 64 square miles with our current enrollment at approximately 3,400 students. We have five campuses, Anna Early Childhood for grades Pre-K and Kindergarten, Joe K. Bryant Elementary for grades 1-5, Sue E. Rattan Elementary for grades 1-5, Anna Middle School for grades 6-8, and Anna High School for grades 9-12. The district has the U.I.L. classification of 4A based on our high school enrollment from the 2013-2014 school year.
I am excited to see what the future will bring to our district. This is a great place to raise a family and educate your children. We are looking forward to an outstanding 2016-2017 school year.
